It is our mission to provide our clients with essential D.O.T. compliance services and training of the highest quality and unequaled value. We are committed to maintaining excellence, respect and integrity in all aspects of our operations.
Services
If you think compliance is expensive, try non-compliance
We work with clients, providing exceptional consulting services that are catered specifically to their needs. Take a look below at the services we offer and get in touch to achieve immediate results.
Mock DOT Audits
The FMCSA has been moving towards a performance-based enforcement of the regulations under the CSA program, which can expose your company to different levels of intervention from FMCSA. Your company can be selected for a compliance review or other interventions based on many different criteria under the new CSA program. A proactive compliance program can eliminate the uncertainty during an FMCSA / DOT audit and will help to identify and correct problem areas.
BLC staff can perform a "mock DOT audit" of your company, which will help you identify problem areas before FMCSA discovers them. The mock audit and resulting report will follow the same protocols and cover the same factors that a federal or state investigator would use in a compliance review.
The mock audit is a unique opportunity to train your staff and identify problem areas before they become costly.
Contact BLC to learn where you stand and what actions need to be taken to improve.
Driver Logs and ELD Compliance
Our service differs from many of our competitors who simply scan logs through a computer system and provide a list of violations for clients to interpret. We utilize technology to audit logs, but also put “eyes on each log” to review for errors that otherwise may be missed. We also cross check against checkpoint data to identify issues that an enforcement officer would find on an audit. As a result, we know our service quality is better.
Hours of Service Review and Audit
Set-up drivers in log auditing program.
Import driver logs, time sheets and/or ELD data into auditing software.
Audit for form and manner violations.
Audit for hours of service violations.
Audit for date and time discrepancies.
Audit for status abuse on ELDs
Provide summaries of violations by driver/fleet/terminal.
Provide individual summaries of violations for each driver in a format to be shared for training and feedback.
Maintain files in log auditing program for period required for FMCSA compliance.
Automatically purge files that are outside of the required retention period for FMCSA compliance.
Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Short-Haul Exception Monitoring
Monitor the number of days in a 30-day period that each driver is required to complete a log
Allow fleets to easily track which drivers are approaching levels that would require an ELD
Provide a short-haul exception letter for drivers to carry in the vehicle explaining their status

Solutions for New Fleets
When you are ready to strike out on your own, BLC can help get your business off the ground.
Some of the services that we offer include:
Assistance obtaining your DOT number.
Assistance obtaining the interstate operating authority (MC number) necessary to run your business as a for-hire-carrier (delivery of freight for a fee or other compensation). Unlike the USDOT Number application process, a company may need to obtain multiple operating authorities to support its planned business operations. Operating Authority dictates the type of operation a company may run and the cargo it may carry.
Assistance meeting the financial responsibility requirements established by FMCSA that must be met before you can operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Assistance in passing the detailed safety audit (new entrant audit) that you will be required to go through within the first 12-18 months of your operations. Failing the audit or failing to submit to the audit, could result in your authority being revoked.
Implementing processes and documentation to maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Comprehensive annual compliance services, including:
Assistance with DOT driver qualification file retention
Training in Hours of service auditing (ELDs, paper logs or time cards to be submitted)
Driver record of duty status books
Assistance with new entrant safety audit preparation

Testimonials
Quality means doing it right when no one is looking
BLC provides consistent, sensible, and easy to follow solutions to complex issues involving federal, state and local regulations. I have received many unsolicited laudatory comments from our transportation managers attending the training sessions of BLC that this was the first time they were able to clearly understand ‘”how” the whole process fits together.
The consulting services of BLC are a superb combination of common-sense, technical expertise, and approachability that far outweighs its competition.

Christopher Bunch
"I've been in trucking for years. The biggest headache is all the laws, due dates and what records I need. I am worry free and have learned so much. BLC Consultants gave me the confidence that I would be in good standing with the DOT if they came for an audit at anytime!"
Jacob Tollison
"Thank you Rebekah so much for working with our company to improve our rating. It was done in a timely manner and we are now up to compliance. We greatly appreciate you."
Russell Jones Trucking
BLC has played a major role in helping my company keep our fleet safe and compliant with all applicable regulations. They continue to provide us training and certification where needed and have conducted mock DOT audits and assessments to keep us prepared and ready for an official review.
The Consultants at BLC are ethical, trustworthy, and always just a phone call away when help is needed.
I would recommend the consulting services of BLC to any trucking company seeking expert advice on DOT regulations and best safety practices.
